Scholarships and Bursaries

1. Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee Bursary

 **Note - Amount Subject to change - amount can be up to $1,000.00.

Eligibility Requirements

Any Grade 12 Aboriginal student who meets all of the following critieria is  eligible to apply.

  • has declared Aboriginal descent.
  • is eligible for graduation.
  • is proceeding to an accredited post secondary educational institution.
  • has attained a minimum "C+ " average for the first two reporting periods (1st Semester) in grade 12.
  • demonstrated good service, citizenship, personal determination and work ethic in school and/or community
  • has demonstrated a need for financial assistance. (External Scholarship - School Mail In)


2. Chilliwack Metis Association Bursary

$500.00

Eligibility Requirements

Any Grade 12 student who meets all of the following critieria is eligible to apply.

The eligible student:

  • has self-identified being of Metis descent.
  • is eligible for graduation.
  • is proceeding to an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
  • has attained a min. 'C+' average for the first two reporting periods (first semester)  in Grade 12.
  • demonstrated good service, citizenship, personal determination and work ethic in school and/or community
  • demonstrate a need for financial assistance. (External Scholarship - School Mail In)


3. Gwen Point Aboriginal Education Bursary

$1,000.00 *Note - The number of bursaries awarded and the amount of each bursary is subject to change.

Eligibility Requirements

Any Grade 12 Aboriginal student who meets all of the following criteria is eligible to apply.

The eligible student:

  • has self-identified being of Metis descent.
  • is eligible for graduation
  • is proceeding to an accredited postsecondary educational institution,
  • attained a minimum "C+" average for the first two reporting periods (1st Semester) in Grade 12.
  • has demonstrated a need for financial assistance. (External Scholarship - School Mail In)
  • Candidates must provide a letter to describe their cultural involvement and/or service in this community. (This may include volunteer work, working with Elders, community sports, etc.)

4. Sto:lo Nation First Nation bursary

$500.00

Each year Sto:lo Nation will offer a bursary to any First Nation student. The maximum amount of the award to a student will be $500. Proof of registration to a college university on a full time basis is required. Student must enroll within one year, or the award will be forfeited. 5.Aboriginal Health Careers Bursary

$100.00
